Leadership

Topic: Qualification

Leadership is not always visible and often difficult to grasp at first glance. That is why we approach it with two comparisons:

Leadership is, on one hand, like housekeeping—it becomes especially noticeable when order is lacking.

And on the other hand, leadership is like craftsmanship – it creates something new, shapes change and unlocks potential. In any case, leadership requires two essential qualities: The ability to structure and to shape. In short, the task of leadership is to ensure the future viability of the organization. This is what we train for.

“In no other profession is training as poor as in leadership and management. No one would get on an airplane if pilots had training comparable to that of executives and managers.”
(Fredmund Malik, 2013)

Managing contradictions:
Learning and shaping leadership

We understand leadership as the management of expectations and requirements for the benefit of people and the organization. The aim is to reconcile the different demands and areas of tension. This competence is allowed to develop.

Professional training can help to
  • organize collaboration effectively: Making people effective.
  • minimize frictional losses: Developing know-how and promoting trust.
  • bring about accurate decisions: Enabling certainty of action.
  • ensure future viability: Providing for tomorrow today.
  • encourage employees, promote development and enable success.
Persons in leadership positions also take on different roles, and it is important to be prepared for this.
Leader: provides orientation, clarifies goals, shapes relationships, is a role model and communicator.
Manager: coordinates planning and processes, ensures effective structures and routines.
Expert: has field competence and technical knowledge.

We therefore view leadership from a systemic perspective. We train against the background of Ruth Seliger’s Leadership Map, “Jungle Book of Leadership”, or the approaches of Reinhard K. Sprenger, “Radical Leadership” or concepts by Niklas Luhmann and Rudi Wimmer. It is important to us to support people in becoming effective in their leadership role and shaping the future with their employees.

Take the lead!

We support organizations – starting with the initial clarification of objectives – in identifying the performance of leadership so that leadership can be perceived responsibly and designed with effective tools. In order to use these tools, leaders need clarity about goals and strategies, constant contact with their environment and constructive communication that has an integrative effect.

We support leaders with helpful models and tools, practical leadership coaching, competence-enhancing leadership training and make people with leadership responsibility fit for an agile environment.
