Offer for managers
“Decisions are mainly based on the fact that nobody can know what the future will look like.”
Niklas Luhmann
Yes, no, maybe. It depends… Deciding means making a choice from alternatives that we often find difficult. In organizations, decisions are constantly being made. As a rule, the aim is to set a direction, to turn uncertainty into certainty, to be able to act – that is part of the management task.
Organizations are therefore places or systems in which decisions are constantly being made. But how are they made? Traditionally, decisions are reserved for people with certain powers, which in organizations are the managers, who thus become the decision-makers. In an increasingly complex and confusing world, however, the question arises as to whether this is still the best way to reach viable decisions quickly. Experience has shown that this requires the participation of those affected. It is becoming increasingly clear that the future will be decided as a team. And it needs leadership that makes this possible. So how can good decisions and good decision-making processes be ensured?
Our offer
We offer customized workshops that support you in developing decision-making processes and skills.
We focus on the following areas:
Understanding and observing decision-making processes
– to establish good decision-making structures and processes that sustainably improve the quality of decision-making
“Purpose-driven decision making”
Clarify the meaning and purpose of the decision in order to arrive at quicker decisions.
Use direct decision-making procedures according to the situation,
such as consensus, autonomous case decision, decision jourfixes, leadership monitor, resistance query (systemic consensus) or approval queries
Make targeted use of delegation-based decision-making processes,
i.e. different formats of participatory decision-making, from delegated case decisions to delegation to decision-making circles in agile organizations
Individual decision-making techniques
such as pro-con lists, decision matrix or “consider-all-facts method”, scenario technique, time travel method, systemic questions
How does it work?
We clarify with you as a manager or the team which decision-making premises are used in your company. Under what conditions and in what context are decisions made? We identify your concerns and the potential for growth based on the key question: What is different when we make good decisions?
We would be happy to create your personal decision-maker profile to visualize your preferences, patterns and automatisms in decision-making situations.
In our workshop, we teach as little theory as necessary to understand the pitfalls and dynamics of decision-making processes. A process map provides orientation for navigation. Then it’s time to explore, try things out and find out what can be used effectively both personally and within the organization.
Follow-up or follow-up coaching supports you in the implementation and in overcoming any hurdles that arise, making the skills you have acquired even more effective.
You benefit
Whether in individual coaching sessions or workshops, in your own team or in a group of decision-makers from different organizations: You will gain a clear view of the basis for decision-making, its pitfalls and potential. You become the designer of your decisions. Decisions are made more quickly, they are more coherent with the motives of all those involved and the organization and have a more lasting effect.
